The adventure begins where the trail ends

We do:

  • A Spanish lesson based on the daily trip will be posted, once weekly. Format based on TPRs (total physical response and storytelling). Based on method of teaching used in the past as a former high school Spanish teacher.

  • Posting daily meals and how to travel remote while still enjoying food you would at home. This includes coffee making and how to do it as fresh as possible, while on the road.

  • The main thing here is rolling into the dusty path w/ our bicycles. After all, the main thing taking us places. Some days may be harder than others. We will post both, the good times and the struggle that inevitably comes a long the path.

  • Here we will post our cool findings from local shops or artesanos found in these places. Some may become available on the site. This of course to help the local artesano and to help our funding for this page.

Traveling Self Supported.

We believe that the best things life has to offer are found off the beaten path.

By traveling to remote areas in specific places of the world, you find that the every day mundane tasks can actually become quite magical.

Upon arriving from these adventures, our experiences on the bikes most of the time translate to our daily lives back home. And that’s perhaps what dusty pathways is about; bringing that magic back to your everyday setting, wherever that may be.

Spanish Lessons (free)

Once weekly a video will be posted. Each lesson will be wrapped around the daily travel and what we encounter along the way. Conversations with locals will be included.

Food Outdoors

One of the biggest issues when traveling remote is what to eat even more so with limited storage space on a bicycle. We strive to make our meals, once off the saddles, as enjoyable and nutritious as possible. Whole bean coffee and how to prepare it will also be covered here.

Dusty Cycling

Here we share gear set-ups, what we carry and how we piggy-back off of each different bike. In other words, what is Walter carrying on his bike versus what is Herb carrying on his. This allows for diversity yet lighter to intermediate load sizes in high altitude terrain.
